“I visited this property 2 weeks back and it was absolutely lovely. We were supposed to check-in at 12 in the afternoon but arrived at 11PM, but the host was very nice she welcomed us with a smile and helped us with the parking and room, since we were going to leave early in the morning she showed us how to use the coffee machine and told us that she would prepare a table for us in the night itself. The breakfast was amazing with way too many items, the rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. The host was very nice to us and her little kid was very nice too and the numerous cats just add a very homely feel. I wish I had more time to stay but overall the stay was great. I would totally recommend it.”

“Staying in this hotel transported us to a different age, with plenty of prewar and postwar furniture and decorations. The establishment dates back to 1929, but the current manager/chef has updated the menu somewhat to cater also to vegetarians and vegans. This is a family business, and we met various members, all of whom were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included in the very reasonably priced stay, and is ample and tasty, but the real strength of this place is at dinner time. On the first day we opted for the half-board, all-inclusive dinner to experience a full Italian meal, but the other evenings we chose a la carte from the menu which saved money and our waistlines. The food was excellent, with tasty homemade pasta and second courses, delicious antipasti and desserts. The gardens are beautiful and the village itself an oasis of quiet. A lovely playground is right by the hotel, for children. There is constant birdsong and we even saw glowworms on the last evening. We came by train on the Porrettana railway, a scenic and historic line. The station is 10 minutes walk away. We were missing the place as soon as we left.”
